Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) is a highly contagious parvovirus that primarily affects cats, especially kittens and unvaccinated animals. The virus attacks rapidly dividing cells in the bone marrow and intestinal tract, leading to severe immunosuppression and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Detection Principle
The FPV Ag Test Strip is based on a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. When the processed sample is applied, FPV antigens bind to colloidal gold-labeled antibodies and migrate along the membrane. The immune complexes are captured by specific antibodies immobilized on the test strip, forming stable antigen–antibody complexes within the detection system.

Interpretation of Results
- Positive Result:
Two colored lines appear in both the Test (T) and Control (C) regions, indicating the presence of FPV antigen.
- Negative Result:
Only one colored line appears in the Control (C) region, indicating no detectable FPV antigen.
- Invalid Result:
No colored line appears in the Control (C) region. The test is invalid and should be repeated with a new device.
